ROCK-BOTTOM Wimborne Town’s struggling start to the season continued as they were left with just nine men in a 3-1 home defeat to Beaconsfield Town.

Callum Chugg lost his cool and was sent off by referee Robert Ablitt after an altercation four minutes into the second period.

Tom Bragg then handled in the Wimborne box on 66 minutes as the hosts were left with nine men for the remainder of the contest.

After Nathan Minhas had opened the scoring for the Rams following just 10 minutes at New Cuthbury, Wimborne drew level through Lewis Beale.

He was found in space and tucked the ball into the bottom corner to send the sides in level at the interval.

Beaconsfield then hit the woodwork twice following Chugg’s red card before they took the lead from the penalty spot.

After Bragg’s handball, up stepped Scott Donnelly to convert from 12 yards.

Toby Little then fired in a third following a neat corner routine from the Rams, who made the numerical advantage count to heap more misery on James Stokoe’s Magpies.

Wimborne have just one league victory from 15 games this season, with just seven points accumulated this season. They are currently 12 points adrift of safety in Southern Premier South.
