BOSS Scott Parker revealed Jefferson Lerma had been donning a facemask due to enduring damage to his nose.

The combative midfielder sustained the problem during the Dorset club’s 4-0 victory over Swansea before the international break.

Speaking about the Colombia international, Parker said: “Jeff is okay. He damaged his nose last game here against Swansea.

“It was out of line, we just needed to straighten his nose up, which we did and he’s having to wear a facemask obviously, just for that to set.”

Lerma is set to be fit for Sunday’s clash with Derby County (noon).

Parker gave both himself and his players some time off during the early part of the two-week interval, but all focus is now on the clash with Wayne Rooney’s Rams.

“The break came at a good time, it was a time for us to take a bit of rest and recharge a little bit.

"We've been working hard but I feel that we got that balance right and we're in a good place for the middle part of the season."

Cherries are currently two points clear at the top of the Championship table, with 40 points form their opening 17 league games.
