CHERRIES Women are into the second round proper of the Women’s FA Cup for the first time in the club's history.
Goals from Becki Bath and first-team debutant Lucy Cooper ensured Cherries were 2-1 victors over local opposition, Bournemouth Sports.
Following yesterday's game at Chapel Gate, manager Steve Cuss spoke with the club website about the performance.
"I've got to say it was a tough, close game," he admitted.
"First and foremost, I'm delighted to be in the hat for the second round which is a little bit of history for the football club.
"Full credit to Bournemouth Sports, I thought they were excellent and they made it really difficult for us.
"We were a little bit disappointed with our performance, it dropped below our normal standards and it was a tight finish in the end.
"As the rounds go on, it gets harder and harder with the calibre of teams you can get.
"Everyone has a real buzz about the draw come early afternoon, so we're now looking forward to seeing who we get."
