CHERRIES are set to use their first home fixture since the news of David Brooks’s illness to show their support for the attacking-midfielder.

The 24-year-old has been diagnosed with Stage II Hodgkin lymphoma.

Brooks went away on international duty with Wales earlier this month, but left early following a medical examination.

Hodgkin lymphoma is described by the NHS as an "uncommon cancer that develops in the lymphatic system, which is a network of vessels and glands spread throughout your body".

And in a show of support to the Warrington-born star, the club are set to air messages from players and fans in support to Brooks pre-match against Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

The club have also dedicated the front cover of the match programme to the Cherries ace.

Fans are also expected to applaud and chant for Brooks in the seventh minute.

Speaking about Brooks ahead of the game, boss Scott Parker said: “It’s a massive time really.

“A full house here and, like I have said many a time, the support we give Brooksy is going to be pivotal in his recovery and him getting back to where he needs to be.

“Seven minutes, come the weekend is going to be the first time that us as a football club, the fans and everyone can show their support and what Brooksy means to us.

“It will be a good moment.”
