BOSS Scott Parker revealed Adam Smith would be out for a “couple of weeks” with a knee problem.
The experienced full-back has missed the Dorset club’s past two victories over Bristol City and Stoke City.
And the Cherries head coach confirmed the 30-year-old would not be taking part in Saturday’s home clash with Huddersfield (3pm).
Parker said: “Adam Smith is seeing a specialist. He is probably going to be a couple of weeks.
“Where he is at this moment in time, it may be a little bit longer – probably in the next couple of weeks, to try to settle a slight issue he’s got on his knee.
“We will try to settle that down and then see how he comes when we start ramping up his work a little bit – see where he is after that. That’s a little bit of a disappointment.”
Smith has featured seven times in all competitions for the Dorset club this campaign, having missed four games earlier in the season due to illness.
