SCOTT Parker outlined the key reasons why he was keen to add Robbie Brady to his squad.

Republic of Ireland international Brady arrived at Cherries this week, signing as a free agent having left Burnley in the summer.

The 29-year-old was not part of the squad for Tuesday night's 1-0 win at Stoke City, as he continues to build his fitness having not played a competitive match since March.

Despite Parker's side sitting six points clear at the top of the Championship table, still unbeaten, he explained why he was keen to add Brady to his in-form squad.

Asked what he hopes Brady can bring to Cherries, Parker told the Daily Echo: "We bring Robbie in with a bit of experience.

"He gives us some cover in a few positions, which is helpful.

"Now it’s about Robbie getting up to speed. He’s not been around or played a lot of football.

"We’ve obviously signed a very good professional and someone who is going to help us, no doubt."

Winger Brady, who can also play at left-back, has 57 caps for Ireland and has made more than 250 club appearances during his time at Manchester United, Hull City, Norwich City and Burnley, many of which have been in the Premier League.
