SCOTT Parker thinks the current international break was “needed” for his Cherries side and insists it has: “Come at the right time.”

It follows after Cherries have played six gruelling Championship games within three weeks, including tough away battles at Cardiff and Peterborough.

Although they’ve taken a huge 16 points from 18 available, to remain unbeaten at the top of the table with a three-point lead over West Brom, the boss clearly feels that it has taken a toll on his squad.

While some stars will go away with their national sides, for others it’s a moment of respite.

Parker admitted: “I feel like the break is needed, this one certainly. I feel like it’s come at the right time.

“We’ve been working very hard, the grind of what this division is, I feel like it’s a good time just to reset a little bit, to reboot.

“When the players go away, I always watch with one eye closed and hoping they come back fit and well. But I feel like at this present moment in time it’s what’s needed really.”
