PIRATES promoter Danny Ford is bracing himself for a “frantic” end to the club’s campaign as they await their fate in both league and cup competitions.

The Wimborne Road side are poised to make their decision over who to face in the SGB Championship play-off semi-finals, having finished top of the regular league standings.

Second legs of the quarter-final clashes between both Edinburgh and Redcar, and Leicester and Scunthorpe are due to take place this week.

Poole have also reached the final of the Championship Knockout Cup and are awaiting to see who they will face in the finale between Edinburgh and Glasgow.

Ford told the club website: “The wait goes on and it looks like it is going to be a frantic last few weeks of the season.

“We have to make our choice of opponents and had hoped that we would have been in a position to do that by now, but unfortunately the quarter-finals have yet to be completed.

“And, of course, we need the Glasgow v Edinburgh Knockout Cup semi-final to be raced before we can confirm dates for the cup final.

“We can only appeal to our fans to continue to remain patient and follow our website and social media channels for further fixture news, once we are in a position to confirm our next meetings."
