HEAD coach Scott Parker is expecting a “tough game” against late showers Luton Town and notes how they’ll want to bounce back, admitting: “Last game they’ll probably be bitterly disappointed.”

Nathan Jones’ Hatters lead Swansea by three goals to nil but somehow collapsed to see the points shared, after an injury time equaliser no less.

That meant it was a run of four games in which they’ve drawn them all, not facing defeat since mid-August to sit 12th in the Championship table.

They’ve provided two stoppage time equalisers of their own in that run, with last-gasp goals at Bristol City and Blackburn Rovers in their other two September games – showing that this contest truly won’t be over until the final whistle goes.

Speaking ahead of the match, Parker said: “I’m expecting a tough game. Last game they’ll probably be bitterly disappointed, 3-0 up (and drawing).

“Intense team, aggressive team. I think they’re right up there in terms of goals scored in the division.

“We’re under no illusions what sort of game we’re going to be facing at the weekend. I think we understand that. A team that have played different styles, different ways and in terms of shape.

“We’ll be prepared for that.”

However, Cherries are one of just two teams yet to taste defeat during the 2021-22 Championship season, along with relegated outfit West Brom.

Parker’s side have scored two more and conceded eight less than Luton, and will want to impose themselves at Vitality Stadium to continue their current three-game winning run with a 100% record this month.

Cherries then travel to Peterborough on Wednesday 29 to see out September.

Parker added: “On the flip side of that, we understand that if we bring our best game, while we’ll go into detail on them, we’ll also go into detail on how we can hurt them as well.

“Hopefully we can do that and come out with a result at the weekend.”
