STRUGGLING Christchurch suffered their heaviest defeat of the season as they were thrashed 9-0 at Horndean.

Priory have found life tough since Ollie Cherrett left the club earlier this year, picking up just three points from their nine Wessex Premier matches so far.

And the trip to high-flying Horndean proved the toughest yet, with braces from Ashley Howes and Zackary Willett helping the hosts to a thumping victory.

Leaders Brockenhurst were pegged back and forced to settle for a 1-1 draw with Moneyfields.

Brock led through a Silvano Obeng effort, only for Matthew McGlinchey to level the contest with 13 minutes to play.

A Bruno Manuel goal came in vain as Poppies lost 5-1 at Blackfield & Langley, while Bashley climbed up to fourth after easing to a 6-1 win at Amesbury Town.

Bue Bennett struck a hat-trick, with Oliver Bradley, Jack Smith and Harrison White also on target.

In Wessex One, a Tyrrell Sampson brace and Christopher Long goal saw New Milton Town to a 3-2 win over Whitchurch United, while Ringwood Town lost 4-1 at Romsey Town, despite Tommy Hughes getting on the scoresheet.

Charlie Gajic and Nathan Powis goals earned Verwood Town a 2-1 win over Ash United.
