SCOTT Parker declared himself "pleased" with Cherries' start to the season, but insisted: "I always want more."

Cherries currently sit sixth in the Championship table with nine points from their five matches so far.

That has included victories at Nottingham Forest and Birmingham City, as well as draws against West Bromwich Albion, Blackpool and Hull City.

With the international break now drawing to a close, Cherries return to action on Saturday, welcoming Barnsley to Vitality Stadium, before in-form QPR then visit Dorset three days later.

Parker's squad will be bolstered for the clash with Markus Schopp's Tykes, following the deadline-day arrivals of Ryan Christie and Jamal Lowe, who could make their debuts.

Reflecting on the club's start to the Championship campaign, Parker told afcbTV: "I’m really pleased. I always want more and I’m always going to demand more from the players and that’s the way it is.

"I’m pleased with where we are. We’re undefeated in five.

"Could we have turned one of those draws into a victory? Maybe.

"But I think overall, considering the circumstances we’ve been under, a lot of young players, a lot of players that are learning and gaining experiences on the job. A new manager coming in and the players that were already here, a new voice. What I’m asking of them is very different, so of course that’s going to take time.

"I think overall I’m excited and I’m pleased with where we are after five games really.

"Still plenty to come, still much more improvement to be had and we’ll endeavour to do that really."
