NEIL Middleditch revealed how both he and co-team boss Gary Havelock will be managing Pirates in the pits together towards the business end of the season.

The Wimborne Road outfit are now guaranteed a place in the end-of-season SGB Championship play-offs, after a 56-34 home success over Glasgow on Friday.

Legendary boss Middleditch has been taking the side for their southern and home fixtures this campaign, while former world champion Havelock has overseen meetings in the north.

But speaking to the Pirates’ social media channels, Middleditch revealed the pair are set to team up on racenights at the end of the campaign.

He said: “Getting towards the play-offs, Havvy and I will be doing it together, so it will be good fun.”

Poole are next in action against Plymouth Gladiators at Wimborne Road on Wednesday, with Havelock set to take charge in the absence of boss Middleditch.

“I’m not going to be here actually,” revealed the co-team manager. “I’m away in Tenerife for a few days’ golf, so Havvy is coming down, which will be nice.

“He is looking forward to coming down, I know that.”
