LEWIS Beale struck in both halves as Wimborne Town secured an impressive 2-0 win at Salisbury.

Seeking a first Southern Premier South win of the season, James Stokoe's men triumphed at the Ray Mac Stadium.

Wimborne named an unchanged XI from the one which lost at home to Swindon Supermarine at the weekend.

Salisbury were forced into a couple of early changes due to injuries and they fell behind before half-time. Magpies pressed high to force a mistake, with Harry Morgan eventually tee up Beale to slot into the empty net.

The hosts pushed hard for a winner in the second half, but could not find a way past Cherries loanee goalkeeper Billy Terrell.

And their misses proved costly as Wimborne went down the other end to score again through Beale, his fourth goal of the season.

After five games, Magpies sit 19th in the table.

They now take a break from league action to head to Blackfield & Langley in the FA Cup on Saturday (3pm).

Magpies: Terrell, Strugnell (Young, 73), Chugg, Arnold, Bragg, Morrison, Scorey, Morgan (Hanratty, 85), Sinclair (Shepherd, 49), Gunson, Beale.

Unused subs: Chipangura, Smith.
