DAZZLING Danyon Hume reached double figures for Pirates as they sealed an impressive 50-40 victory on the road at Edinburgh Monarchs this evening.

The rising star rider sealed three heat wins on the way to securing an 11-point haul for the visitors at Armadale Stadium.

Steve Worrall also led the charge with 11+1 for Gary Havelock’s men, who sealed four valuable points in their quest to finish top of the SGB Championship.

Team boss Havelock said: “I am delighted with that result.

“It is a huge four points we have lifted tonight. It was a phenomenal effort by the lads especially when you consider that the two Bens (Cook and Basso) and Danyon haven't ridden the place before.

“They all adjusted well and Danyon, in particular, was simply superb.

“I can say, without any doubt, that tonight was the best night I have had managing Poole Pirates.

“I have been absolutely loving the job standing in on the northern circuits for Middlo.

“There will always be a very special place in my heart for Poole Speedway and I am so pleased we got the full set of points tonight.”

Pirates host Birmingham Brummies at Wimborne Road on Sunday (5pm).

Pirates: Schlein 9+1, Basso 5+1, Worrall 11+1, Nielsen 2+1, King 7+1, Cook 5+1, Hume 11.
