CHERRIES chief executive Neill Blake was "absolutely delighted" to secure new loan recruit Morgan Rogers and said he “has all the attributes to become an outstanding player”.

The Manchester City youngster has penned a season-long loan deal at Vitality Stadium, with the option for Cherries to make the move permanent.

Former West Brom academy product Rogers helped League One Lincoln to the play-off final last season, scoring six times in 28 games.

He has been pictured in training with the likes of City team-mates Riyad Mahrez and Jack Grealish during pre-season.

And Blake is excited to see what the 19-year-old England youth international is capable of in the Championship.

He told the club website: “Morgan has all the attributes to become an outstanding player which Manchester City clearly recognised when they signed him.

“He had a good grounding in the academy at West Brom and enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with Lincoln City in League One last season, helping them reach the play-off final.

“We are absolutely delighted to have secured his services and he can only add to what is a young, talented and exciting squad of players – we very much look forward to working with him.”

Rogers has become the fifth new face to come through the door on the playing side at Cherries this summer, following Emiliano Marcondes, Leif Davis, Orjan Nyland and Gary Cahill to Vitality Stadium.
