PIRATES’ scheduled meeting against Edinburgh Monarchs tonight has been called off due to a “severe weather warning” in place for Armadale Stadium.
The contest had been set to take place as the first of three meetings in as many days in the north for the Wimborne Road outfit.
But a decision has been made to postpone the contest against the Monarchs at an early stage.
A post on the Edinburgh website read: “Tonight's match at Armadale Stadium against Poole Pirates has been postponed due to forecast torrential rain, thunderstorms and a severe weather warning.
“With rain already falling across the area and much more forecast for later in the day, including thunderstorms and torrential downpours, the early decision to postpone tonight's match has been made. A restaging date will be announced once agreed.”
Pirates are set to visit Berwick Bandits tomorrow, while rounding odd their fixtures in the north with an away contest at Newcastle.
Gary Havelock is set to take charge as team boss for the away fixtures.
