SCOTT Parker hinted some of Cherries’ rising stars could be given the nod to feature in his first competitive game in charge and added: “They have built my trust.”

The Dorset outfit kick off their campaign with a home Carabao Cup first-round clash with MK Dons at Vitality Stadium on Saturday (3pm).

The likes of Gavin Kilkenny and Zeno Ibsen Rossi among others have featured regularly in pre-season.

Speaking about the club’s academy graduates, Parker said: “I have been really impressed with them to be fair.

“The younger players have done very, very well – hence some of the ones you’re seeing starting in these games.

“It was a big game the other night against massive opponent and players entering the field.

“They have built my trust, certainly in a short space of time in pre-season and done very well.

“They are with us. They have been with us for five weeks and hopefully they can maintain where they need to maintain.

“That’s the biggest thig with young players. You often find it’s the consistency in a young player – being able to maintain a certain level really, that’s the difference between the ones who normally stay with a first team group and the ones who will go."
