SCOTT Parker insisted there had been “no news” on the club’s current goalkeeping situation but added: “It’s an area which we are looking at.”
Following the departure of Asmir Begovic to Everton, Cherries currently have two senior keepers in their ranks at present, with Mark Travers and Will Dennis.
The Daily Echo understands Freddie Woodman had agreed a loan deal to arrive at Vitality Stadium from Newcastle.
Woodman had been set to be part of Cherries’ pre-season training camp in Marbella, but that never materialised due to an injury of Magpies keeper Martin Dubravka.
The Cherries loan target was then forced to self-isolate after Karl Darlow tested positive for COVID-19.
Asked for the latest on the club’s goalkeeping situation, Parker told the Daily Echo: “No news really on that.
“Obviously it’s an area where we only have two keepers, so it’s an area which we are looking at.
“Mark’s done really well. I thought he played really well on Tuesday, so I am comfortable.
“But certainly, it is an area at this moment which maybe we are a little bit light in.”
