HEAD coach Scott Parker confirmed Cherries defender Steve Cook had a “couple of setbacks” with a knee injury.
The 30-year-old centre-back is yet to feature in pre-season and missed the club’s training camp in Marbella.
He was present on Tuesday as Cherries suffered a 2-1 defeat to European Champions Chelsea.
Asked for an update on Cook, Parker told the Daily Echo: “He’s had a couple of setbacks with his knee – minor setbacks.
“That’s just probably halted it at times, just when he is coming back, it looks like as if he’s turned a corner, he’s had another couple of setbacks.
“I spoke to him again tonight (Tuesday) hopefully he is on the right path now and hopefully within the next week or so we can get him in the group, training or picking up his work. We will have to see.”
The Daily Echo also understands Jaidon Anthony missed Tuesday’s friendly defeat after suffering a broken wrist.
The former Arsenal youngster will be available to play however, once he gets a cast fitted.
