RISING star Danyon Hume was Pirates’ leading light as they continued their impressive form with a 52-38 victory at Kent Kings.

The Poole number seven totalled 12+1 from six rides for the visitors as Neil Middleditch’s men took home all four points from Central Park Stadium.

Number one Rory Schlein (11+1) and skipper Danny King (11) also made strong contributions to guide their side to an emphatic away win.

Pirates had found themselves trailing 8-4 after two heats against Kent, but a run of six straight heat victories put them in command of the contest at 26-22.

And despite former Pirate Paul Starke claiming a heat win in race nine, Poole turned on the style in the latter stages of the meeting to emerge comfortable winners.

Boss Middleditch’s side are now seven meetings unbeaten in all competitions. Poole host Leicester Lions at Wimborne Road in league action tomorrow.

Kent 38: Starke 12, Nicholls 9, Morley 7+1, Gilkes 4+1, Heeps 4+1, Hurry 2+1.

Pirates 52: Hume 12+1, King 11, Schlein 11+1, Nielsen 8, Worrall 8+1, Thomas 2+1, Wright 0.
