CHERRIES confirm that winger Kyle Edwards is on trial with the club and could feature in tonight’s friendly match against Chelsea.

The 23-year-old Dudley-born attacker was released by West Brom at the end of last season and has since trialled with Championship side Reading, but failed to agree terms to move permanently.

Edwards played 26 times during the Baggies 2019-20 Championship promotion season, before making five further appearances in the Premier League last term, and has reportedly drawn interest from the likes of Celtic.

He was also used as a starter in cup competitions by the side, being used in a total of 49 senior matches during his time, and if signed would add much needed depth to head coach Scott Parker’s wide midfield options.

The former England under-20 international had spent 17 years with West Brom developing through the academy, with only a six-month loan spell at Exeter City away from the club, in which his loan side eventually reached the League Two play-offs.

Away from the pitch, Edwards released a rap track via Link Up TV on popular site YouTube, following West Brom’s 2019-20 promotion, that amassed almost 150k views.
