SKIPPER Danny King insists he is getting “dialled in” to his 2021 campaign with Pirates and backed the group to “kick things on now”.

King is set to captain the Wimborne Road outfit when they make the trip to Leicester in the SGB Championship on Saturday (7pm), having totalled 9+2 in Wednesday’s 61-29 hammering of Plymouth.

The former British champion told the club website: “It feels as though I am getting dialled in now.

“There just hasn't really been enough track time to be honest but we are now about to get pretty busy with plenty of time on the bike and I am really looking forward to it.

“The team has bonded so well and I think we can really kick things on now."

The Daily Echo understands Gary Havelock is set to take team manager duties for the clash with the Lions.

Poole are also once again set to track a guest in place of Ondrej Smetana, whose travel issues continue to make him unavailable.
