BOSS Scott Parker insisted he was expecting a “big season” from Cherries stalwart Adam Smith – and was pleased to secure him as part of his squad.
Smith put pen-to-paper on a two-year contract at Cherries earlier this month, after his previous deal at Vitality Stadium had expired.
The full-back, 30, played 45 minutes of the club’s 2-1 friendly defeat to Granada in Spain on Monday evening.
Asked about the return of the defender to his squad, Parker told afcbTV: “I’ve known Adam for a long time now, I know what he brings, he brings massive quality, big experience which we are going to need this season.
“He has obviously come in a bit late with us, hence why he played 45 – but he’s probably one of the fittest in the team, to be honest with you.
“That says a lot about his professionalism, so yeah I am pleased we managed to get him back here and I’m expecting a big season from him.”
