CHERRIES midfielder Ben Pearson has been training away from the group due to a slight ankle problem, the Daily Echo understands.
The former Preston North End man did not feature in Monday evening’s 2-1 friendly defeat to Granada at Federacion Malaguena de Futbol.
Pearson had been filmed working alongside Lewis Cook in Marbella, as the former Leeds midfielder continues to recover from a serious knee injury.
But it is understood Pearson is working with the club’s physios on his ankle issue and could still play a part in the pre-season schedule.
Cherries are set to host Chelsea in a friendly on Tuesday, July 27.
Meanwhile, Chris Mepham is now set to join up with Cherries’ squad on their return from Marbella and start work after his Euro 2020 exploits for Wales.
Diego Rico has picked up a slight injury but was with the group in Marbella.
Jefferson Lerma is also still looking to get up to match fitness after his extended break, having been away with Colombia.
Cherries start their competitive campaign with a Carabao Cup first-round home tie against MK Dons on Saturday, July 31.
