CHERRIES trio Arnaut Danjuma, Asmir Begovic and Steve Cook have not travelled with the rest of the squad for their pre-season tour in Spain due to minor injuries, the Daily Echo understands.

Scott Parker's squad flew out yesterday for a nine-day training camp in Marbella, which will culminate in a friendly against La Liga outfit Granada on July 19.

But there were three notable absentees from the travelling party.

Captain Cook took to social media this morning to post a video of him taking part in an individual running drill on the training ground adjacent to Vitality Stadium.

It is understood the 30-year-old has still not fully recovered from the knee injury which kept him out of the play-off semi-final second-leg defeat to Brentford in May.

So he has remained in England to undergo rehab, alongside Danjuma and Begovic, who are believed to have sustained minor knocks during training in the past couple of weeks.

Lewis Cook, who sustained a serious knee injury in March, has travelled to Marbella but is still some way off match fitness.

However, as his rehab has been assigned to physios who are with the team in Spain, he has made the trip, while Cook, Begovic and Danjuma are working on their fitness with a member of staff in Bournemouth.

The trio are not expected to join up with the squad again until they return to England next week.

Cherries' season begins with a Carabao Cup clash against MK Dons at Vitality Stadium on July 31.
