A WOMAN has pinpointed England’s wins in the Euros so far on a ‘lucky’ receipt after her bill totaled £19.66.

Jill Scagell, 56, popped into her local Spar in Ameysford Road, Ferndown, to get some prosecco and a few other bits ahead of the England versus Germany match.

When she got to the till she noticed the total of her shopping matched the year England last won a major tournament 55 years ago.

Bournemouth Echo:

Speaking with the Echo the sales consultant said: “I went out in the evening for some shopping and I could not believe it.

“The cashier and I both went, we're gonna win, we're gonna win.”

Funnily enough, England did just that and they beat Germany 2-0 before Gareth Southgate’s side saw off Ukraine and Denmark to reach the final against Italy on Sunday.

However, when Ms. Scagell returned home to watch the match against the Germans she realised she did not have her ‘lucky’ receipt.

She added: “I got home and I thought that I did not get a receipt, so I rang up and the same cashier was there and printed a duplicate receipt.”

Her son then went down to collect the duplicate receipt and she has kept it safe by her side since when she has been watching England play.

Ms. Scagell believes that the Three Lions can go all the way this weekend, she told the Echo: “I think a 1-0 win (for England), down to the lucky receipt.

“The lady in the shop said 2-1 England because everyone that has been coming has been saying 2-1.”

The sales consultant will find out on Sunday evening if the receipt is really as lucky as she believes when the Euros final kicks off at 8 pm at Wembley.

Who’d have thought a bottle of prosecco, a bottle of Heinz tomato ketchup, some tiramisu and a bag of Aunt Bessie's chips could potentially end up being so lucky?
