OWNER Matt Ford urged Pirates fans to snap up their tickets for tomorrow’s SGB Championship home clash with Kent – after once again rearranging their fixture schedule next month.

With the Government confirming relaxation of Covid-19 restrictions prior to the target date of July 19 would not be happening, Poole have moved to postpone their home fixture against Glasgow scheduled for Wednesday July 14.

It means that after tomorrow’s fixture against the Kings there will be no further speedway at Wimborne Road until the club's second leg Knockout Cup match against Plymouth on Wednesday July 21 at the earliest.

Tickets are still available against the Kings tomorrow, as Poole look for three victories on the bounce in all competitions.

Ford said: "I can only encourage supporters who have not yet purchased tickets for Wednesday night to do so without delay, whilst there is still availability.

“It will be a long three weeks without a home meeting."

He added: "It is always disappointing to postpone meetings but we find ourselves in a position of having to do so.

“We know that crowd levels under the Covid-19 restrictions are not sustainable, but also we want to give all of our fans the opportunity to attend live racing.

“In agreement with the Glasgow promotion we have taken this action now that it is clear that our faint hopes have been dashed for a gradual easing of restrictions under the Covid-19 measures.”

The club yesterday confirmed 90 per cent of tickets had been sold for tomorrow’s clash, with single tickets now available to buy via the club website.
