CHERRIES legend Marc Pugh announced he has ended his 11-year stay living on the south coast.

The Bacup-born winger described as a “very emotional day” relocating back to the north to be closer to his family.

A post on the former Cherries star’s verified Instagram page read: “Yesterday was a very emotional day for my family. After 11 years on the south coast we have relocated back up North closer to family.

“The past 11 years have been the best of my life. We welcomed both our daughters and made some friends for life.”

Loved by Cherries’ fans, the 34-year-old was instrumental in the Dorset club’s rise to the Premier League.

Pugh joined Cherries in the summer of 2010, with the club paying a £100,000 tribunal fee to former club Hereford.

The Lancastrian played a key role in promotion from League One in 2012-13 before winning the Championship in 2014-15.

He left Cherries in the summer of 2019 upon the expiry of his contract and went on to play for Queens Park Rangers and Shrewsbury.

The former Burnley youngster was voted Cherries’ Player of the Decade by Echo readers.
