CHERRIES are still unsure how long they will be without midfielder Junior Stanislas.

The former Burnley ace was absent from the matchday squad for this afternoon's 2-0 defeat to Stoke City due to a hamstring problem.

The 31-year-old suffered the issue during last weekend's loss at Wycombe Wanderers.

Stanislas has played a key role for Cherries this season, scoring 10 goals and providing five assists in 36 appearances.

Asked if there was any update on Stanislas's fitness ahead of the play-offs beginning on May 17, boss Jonathan Woodgate told the Daily Echo: "We’re just waiting on the scan results. We should know them by the time I speak to you next.

"We’ll probably know them by Monday or Tuesday really."

Woodgate also confirmed there was no fitness concern for the returning Steve Cook, despite substituting him with 20 minutes to play against Stoke.

Clarifying his reason behind that decision, Woodgate said: "Just because he got a yellow card, I didn’t want him to be suspended."
