TYLER Cordner looks set to leave Cherries this summer.

The young defender is currently on loan at Southend United in League Two.

Cordner, 22, signed his first professional deal at Cherries in 2016, but it appears his time on the south coast is coming to an end, having never played for the first team.

Speaking to the Southend Echo, Cordner said: “My deal is up and I haven’t taken on another deal with them, so I’m a free agent.

"I had an extension year but we both decided it would be better for me to go out and get games.

“I’ve been there six or seven years now and I feel like if I was going to make my breakthrough I’d have done it by now.

“It’s a good time for me to move on and carry on trying to get more games.

“I’m still young and hopefully it can be a blessing in disguise.”

Before joining Southend, Cordner previously spent time on loan at Havant & Waterlooville, Ebbsfleet United and Scunthorpe United.
