BOSS Jonathan Woodgate insisted visitors Coventry City may be in a false position in the Championship table and added: “This is a really difficult game.”

The Dorset club are set to host the Sky Blues, who are currently seven points above the bottom three having played three games more than 22nd-placed Rotherham.

But Woodgate, whose side are going for four league wins in a row for the first time this season, insisted he would not be taking Mark Robins’s charges lightly.

He said: “This is a really difficult game.

“They are fighting for their lives down at the bottom of the table. I’ll be instilling into my players, they are going to come here fighting for three points.

“We know what they will be like. They are a decent team, they play good passing football but we have to really inflict our game on to them and be positive against them.

“I have watched a number of their games this season, home and away, and they are a decent team.

“With the position they are in, they shouldn’t really be in that position because they have played some good football at times.”

Cherries sealed a 3-1 victory over Coventry at St Andrew’s back in October. Dan Gosling scored twice while Jefferson Lerma was also on target.

The Sky Blues also have the worst away record in the division, with just 11 points coming from 19 fixtures.

“This league can be that inconsistent at times. Anything can happen – you know what football is like,” said Woodgate.

“We just have to be really positive in how we go about the game, not complacent, consistent and perform to how we should perform.

“If we do that, then hopefully we win the game but we know it’s going to be a difficult game, like every game is in this Championship notoriously.

“No matter who you play, first and foremost, you’ve got to earn the right to play from the start of the game. You can’t expect it’s going to be easy because it’s not, it’s going to be difficult.”
