LEWIS Cook will undergo surgery tomorrow to repair the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee.

The midfielder sustained the problem after a heavy challenge from Preston North End defender Greg Cunningham at Deepdale earlier this month.

It is the second time Cook has ruptured that ligament in his knee, having previously recovered from a similar setback in December 2018.

"Lewis will be getting operated on tomorrow, so we wish him all the best," said Cherries boss Jonathan Woodgate.

"We’re obviously gutted for him as a team that he’s going through this now, but he’ll come out of it fitter, stronger and faster than he was before.

"It’s a blow for the team, a blow for the squad, so it’s been difficult for him and the team as well."
