CHERRIES striker Sam Surridge is set to visit a podiatrist next week to assess his troublesome toe injury.

The 22-year-old has missed the past two games due to the problem and will again be absent for today's trip to Preston North End (3pm).

Asked for an update on the frontman's toe problem, Woodgate told the Daily Echo: "It’s not broken. We just need to get to the bottom of it.

"We’re not sure what it is at the minute. He’ll go and see a podiatrist and see what it is.

"He is in pain. He’s tried bigger boots on.

"I was telling him that I remember once with me I had to get an injection in my little toe and I’m a size nine foot and I had to wear a centre-half’s boots called Kenneth Omeruo and I think he’s a size 13 or 14.

"Sometimes you’ve got to do that to play in a game.

"He’s tried that but it’s still too sore for him. So hopefully when he gets back from the podiatrist he’ll solve it hopefully."
