HEAD coach Jonathan Woodgate described as “absolutely fantastic” Arnaut Danjuma’s reaction to being dropped for Cherries’ past two games.

The Netherlands international had started Championship contests against Birmingham, Nottingham Forest and Rotherham under Woodgate before playing just four minutes of the 2-1 defeat to Queens Park Rangers.

The 24-year-old came off the bench at half-time during Wednesday’s 2-1 reverse against Cardiff and played a part in Shane Long’s consolation effort.

Asked how Danjuma had reacted to being dropped in the past two games, Woodgate replied: “Fantastic. Absolutely fantastic.

“The way he’s trained as well - he’s shown a real appetite – he’s been brilliant.

“In the game against Birmingham he was good. Not so good in the other two, so I dropped him out for a few games.

“His attitude has been very, very good. I am pleased for him, the way he came on (against Cardiff) - he looked like the player I saw when I first came and led the Birmingham game.”

Danjuma will be looking for a starting spot when Cherries face Watford in the Championship tomorrow (12.30pm).

Victory could take the Dorset club back into the play-off places.
