PIRATES promoter Danny Ford completed Poole’s one-to-seven for 2021 with the signing of “exciting Brit” Danyon Hume.
The youngster comes in to fill the new British ‘rising star’ spot, put in place by league chiefs this winter.
Hume was a member of the Leicester team that celebrated a National League double in 2019, with success in the league and knockout cup.
Ford told the club website: "We were close to signing Danyon in 2020 but at the time we went for a change in direction.
“As things have panned out the opportunity has arisen and we welcome Danyon into the side. We have what we believe is a really good prospect.
“He is an exciting Brit who spearheaded the Cubs to success in 2019, alongside Ellis Perks.
“Whilst he may not be as high a profile rider as the likes of Drew Kemp, Anders Rowe, Jordan Palin and Leon Flint, he actually achieved a higher National League average in 2019 than all of them, as he breached the nine-point mark.
“We are hoping that our fans really get behind this talented rider, who we know is determined to grab his chance with both hands."
Hume joins skipper Danny King in the club’s class of 2021, as well as Steve Worrall, Rory Schlein, Stefan Nielsen, Zane Keleher and Ben Cook.
