BOSS Jason Tindall revealed Chris Mepham missed Tuesday’s 2-1 FA Cup victory over Crawley Town with an ankle injury.

The manager said the centre-back “took a bit of a kick in training” ahead of the contest, which meant he missed out against the Red Devils.

The problem is only expected to keep out Mepham “for a few days” however, according to the manager.

Asked about the omission of the 23-year-old, Tindall told the Daily Echo: “Chris Mepham – he was fine and unfortunately he took a bit of a kick in training.

“It brought some swelling on his ankle. He gave it a go yesterday (Monday) back out there – unfortunately, he had to come in a little bit early because it was a little bit too sore.

“It’s something that will only be for a few days.”

Cherries were also without midfielder Dan Gosling against the League Two outfit after he was taken ill.

“Dan Gosling unfortunately picked up an illness,” added Tindall.

“We think it might be tonsilitis, so he was unavailable.”
