RANGERS have now reportedly agreed pre-contract deals with Cherries duo Nnamdi Ofoborh and Jack Simpson, according to the Daily Record.

The Daily Echo understands the Ibrox outfit have been in contact with both players regarding possible summer moves – with the pair out of contract at the end of the season.

But the Daily Record are claiming the duo have now agreed to join the Glasgow giants on pre-contract arrangements – and have also not ruled out Rangers signing them this window.

Should Simpson sign a pre-contract agreement with Rangers, it is understood he would join them for free in the summer.

As Ofoborh is under the age of 24, a pre-contract move for him would mean Cherries would be entitled to compensation.

The Daily Record report a transfer for Nigerian under-20 international Ofoborh is more likely this month, as boss Steven Gerrard looks for more midfield cover.

At the time of writing, no confirmation of any deals had been announced by either club, with Gerrard remaining tight-lipped on the Cherries’ duo when speaking on Friday.

Asked to comment on Ofoborh and Simpson, Gerrard said: “No. I think Rangers are linked with players on a daily basis, especially when the window is open so it’s nothing new to me.

"What I won’t do is be disrespectful to any individual player or their clubs. They are two players that belong to a different club.

"What I will say is we are making inroads, we are actively trying to improve the group.

“Not just now but also for the future as well, so yes we are actively trying to add to the group come the summer. But I won’t be mentioning any names or elaborating on that."
