CHERRIES midfielder Philip Billing said he had spoken with boss Jason Tindall about his social media post ahead of Tuesday’s game at Derby and insisted: “We put it to bed.”

The Daily Echo was made aware the Danish star was left out of the squad to face the Rams due to an injury.

But ahead of kick-off at Pride Park, a comment from Billing’s verified Instagram account to a club fan page said: “Didn’t know I was injured.”

Without Billing, Cherries went on to lose 1-0 thanks to Krystian Bielik’s first-half winner.

Speaking to the Daily Echo post-match, Tindall said: “I’m a little bit confused because Phil Billing didn’t complete yesterday’s (Monday’s) training session.

“He came in. He went in to see the doctor, complaining of his hamstring. It’s one I’ll have to speak to Phil about himself.

“But in my book – if you’re unable to complete the training session and you come in from that the day before a game - and you go and see the doctor complaining of your hamstring, it means you're not fit enough to be involved for the game.”

But Billing has now once again taken to social media – this time to clarify the situation.

A post on the midfielder’s Twitter page read: “So regarding some of last night’s comments. I just want to clarify that it’s all been a big misunderstanding, and something that could have easily been avoided, but now looks a bigger problem than it really is.

“I’ve spoken to the manager and we put it to bed. I for one reacted in a way that was natural as no player wanna see ‘injured’ next to their name, especially when that’s not the case, but my reaction was also inappropriate so for that I hold my hands up.

“Like I said, this could have been avoided, but instead a little bit of miscommunication/misunderstanding occurred.

“There’s no problems with the squad/manager at all. We’re all supportive of each other.

“That said, now we’ve face a few bumps along the road with our recent results.. it is what it is, that’s part of the game.

“But we do need to get back to winning ways, and I’ve got no doubt we will be very soon if we all stand together and believe in each other! That includes all of us.”
