CHERRIES have accepted a bid from Cardiff City for Jack Simpson, the Daily Echo understands.

Defender Simpson has recently enjoyed a run in the side at centre-back, but did not feature in this afternoon's defeat to Luton Town, remaining an unused substitute.

The 24-year-old has been at Cherries for more than 10 years, coming up through the academy to make his first-team debut in the EFL Cup against Middlesbrough in October 2017.

Simpson scored in that 3-1 win, his only goal in 35 appearances for the club.

His contract is set to expire in the summer.

The deal from the Bluebirds is reportedly worth around £750,000 to Cherries.

Before being left out against Luton, Simpson had started seven consecutive matches.
