SKIPPER Steve Cook said Cherries would be “very wary” of the threat posed by Rotherham United as they look to extend to four games their winning run.

Jason Tindall’s troops currently sit second in the Championship table – and are set to visit a Millers side in 19th, with 12 points from 13 games played.

Rotherham returned to the second tier last season after earning promotion from League One.

The last time the two sides met, Cherries were 2-0 winners at New York Stadium in January 2015, thanks to goals from Tommy Elphick and Callum Wilson.

But Cook, who played 90 minutes that day, remembers the contest being a tough test.

He told the Daily Echo: “I know it’s a very difficult place to go. I remember last time we went there we scraped a win – Tommy Elphick scored.

“I know they try to play the right way with the manager (Paul Warne).

“I probably saw more of them in League One last year in the way they pressed and worked hard – he’s a young manager who has done extremely well at the club.

“We will be very wary of them, find out their strengths and weaknesses, go there positive and hopefully come back with three points.”
