BOURNEMOUTH cruiserweight Chris Billam-Smith confirmed he would not be performing at Wembley arena on Saturday after failing to find an opponent.

The commonwealth champion had secured a bout for the British belt against Deion Jumah in London – only for his opponent to pull out with an eye injury.

And while Billam-Smith’s team had been frantically looking for a replacement, their efforts have come to no avail.

Posting via his social media, former Poole ABC man Billam-Smith said: “I now won’t be fighting at all on November 21.

“Unfortunately, Deion Jumah pulled out of the fight with an eye injury a few weeks back and we have been trying to find an opponent to replace him since.

“Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find anyone, so I will no longer be boxing on November 21.”

He added: “I am going to keep training. Hopefully we can get the Deion Jumah fight arranged, providing he is safe to box, for the end of January – back on the Whyte v Povetkin II card.

“In the meantime, I am just going to keep training hard and hopefully have some news for you all soon.”
