BOSS Jason Tindall hailed the impact of super-sub Arnaut Danjuma, after he came off the bench to strike the decisive blow for Cherries against Bristol City.

The Dutchman was introduced with the game locked at 0-0 at Vitality Stadium, but his brilliant touch and finish saw the hosts grab a 1-0 win to climb up to second place in the Championship.

Asked about his decision to introduce Danjuma in place of Junior Stanislas, Tindall said: "It worked out well. I felt at the time we needed to make a change and needed to stick a fresh pair of legs on.

"When you look around and see someone with the quality of Arnie Danjuma to put on and go on there and deliver – the 20 minutes that he did was excellent for us.

"It was a really good goal."

He continued: "He is a talent, Arnie. It’s something we’ve seen already this season on a number of occasions. Arnie’s got great quality and I think if you get Arnie the ball in the right areas, then he’s really dangerous and he really poses a threat for us.

"Tonight, thankfully he was there for us with a great finish that won us the game."

Having recovered from a calf problem, Danjuma had started Cherries' previous two matches at Cardiff City last Wednesday, and Watford on Saturday before being left on the bench for the Bristol City clash.

Quizzed on his decision to leave the 23-year-old out of the side from the start, Tindall said: "It is difficult, but I think with the schedule being the way it is, you need to rotate players and make sure that when they do play, they’re fresh and they’re able to deliver a real good, physical performance.

"Arnie Danjuma playing back-to-back games for us, I felt he needed a rest but I always knew that with 20 to 25 minutes to go, if we needed to put him on he’d be able to go on there and make a difference.

"Thankfully it worked out well for us tonight with a really good team goal, good play around the box and Arnie was there with a great finish."
