LLOYD Kelly has urged Cherries to "stamp our authority in this league" by beating his former club Bristol City tomorrow evening.

Kelly, who came through the academy of his hometown club before playing 48 games for the first team, left to join Cherries for £13million in May 2019.

After an injury ravaged first season, the defender returned to play eight Premier League games during Project Restart.

Kelly, 22, started this season brightly before suffering a hamstring problem, which kept him out of action for a month before he came back to play at Watford on Saturday.

Looking ahead to a clash with his former employers, who sit second in the Championship, one point above Cherries, Kelly told the Daily Echo: "They’ve started well. They always start the season well to be fair.

"They’ve had a couple of changes within management and players from last season so we’re going to do everything we can going into that game to stamp our authority in this league and we know it’s going to be a tough game.

"I’m sure everyone will be ready for it."
