BOSS Jason Tindall was pleased with Philip Billing’s “solid performance” at Watford – and stressed the need to keep his squad fresh.

Denmark international Billing was left out of Tindall’s matchday squad for tactical reasons against Queens Park Rangers a week previously.

The 24-year-old was an unused substitute against Cardiff in midweek before returning to play 90 minutes in the 1-1 draw against the Hornets on Saturday.

Asked about the former Huddersfield man’s return to the side, Tindall said: “Really pleased with Phil.

“He’s trained well and he deserved to be involved and deserved to play.

“With the fixture schedule as well, you need to rotate and freshen things up from time to time and I felt Phil came in and delivered a real solid performance.”

Billing, a £15million signing in July 2019, has played seven times for Cherries in all competitions this season – and also made his senior international debut earlier this month.
