JASON Tindall insists Philip Billing has "trained very well" since he was left out of Cherries' matchday squad to face QPR.

The Dane, who featured in each of his club's first six matches this season as well as making his senior Denmark debut, was axed from the 18 to face the R's at Vitality Stadium on Saturday, a decision Tindall described as "tactical".

Youngsters Nnamdi Ofoborh and Jordan Zemura were instead among the substitutes, with Tindall on Saturday saying: "I have to pick what I feel is the best team and the best squad each game and I felt the squad that was chosen was the best squad based on what I’ve seen in the past couple of weeks in training."

Asked if Billing had done enough this week to force his way back into Tindall's plans for tomorrow's trip to Cardiff City, the boss told the Daily Echo: "Phil trained very well on Monday, really pleased with Phil and the way he trained.

"I’ll be looking at everybody to see how everybody trains and then making my decision on the squad, based on the last couple of days and what I feel is the right squad to be involved against Cardiff and go out there and deliver the performance that’s required."
