JEFFERSON Lerma netted his first international goal as Colombia rescued a point against Chile.

Cherries ace Lerma, who was making his 21st appearance for Colombia, broke the deadlock in just the sixth minute in Santiago.

The midfielder ghosted into the box unmarked and headed in from a John Medina cross.

But the hosts battled back to go 2-1 up by half-time with goals from Arturo Vidal and Alexis Sanchez.

However, Colombia grabbed a draw at the death in the World Cup qualifier through former Chelsea and Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao.

After two games, Colombia sit third in the 10-team qualification group behind only Brazil and Argentina.

Lerma takes his goals tally for the season to three, having netted for Cherries in Championship games against Blackburn and Coventry.
