JASON Tindall is planning to “make a really late call” on whether or not to include David Brooks in his squad for tomorrow night’s Championship clash against Coventry City.

Brooks was a late withdrawal from the Cherries side last weekend due to illness.

The Welsh ace returned a negative COVID-19 test this week and Tindall hopes he may be able to be part of the group who travel to St Andrew’s tomorrow.

“I’ve not really seen too much of Brooksy this week to be honest due to the virus that he’s picked up,” Tindall told the Daily Echo.

“That’s one that we’re going to have to make a really late call on.”

Tindall is also hopeful Mark Travers can return to the squad against the Sky Blues.

The goalkeeper was due to be on the bench against Norwich City on Sunday, but pulled out in the warm-up after feeling discomfort following a heavy collision with Liam Delap whilst playing at Manchester City a few days earlier.

“He’s not trained so far this week,” Tindall said of Travers.

“I’ll assess him out on the training ground today and see how he comes through that.

“Fingers crossed he comes through okay and is able to be in the squad for tomorrow.”

Both Brooks and Travers have been called up for international duty ahead of games next week. The pair could face each other when Wales take on Republic of Ireland in a Nations League game.

Asked if he is confident both will be able to travel with their countries, Tindall said: “They’re very close (to fitness), it’s just one that’s going to have to be assessed day by day.

“We’ll always make the right decision for the player and for the football club.

“Hopefully in the next couple of days they’ll be fully recovered and be able to not only be involved for us tomorrow but be available for their countries.”
