CHERRIES will "assess" Mark Travers in the coming days after the goalkeeper withdrew from Cherries' matchday squad at the eleventh hour on Sunday.

The Republic of Ireland international, who started in the Carabao Cup at Manchester City on Thursday, was set to be on the bench for the Championship clash with Norwich City, as backup for starting stopper Asmir Begovic.

However, Travers pulled out after feeling discomfort in the warm-up, as he continues to recover from a heavy collision with Manchester City striker Liam Delap during Thursday night's Carabao Cup contest.

Will Dennis was instead drafted in to fill the spot among the substitutes.

Asked what was behind the late change, Tindall told the Daily Echo: "Well he was on the bench, Travs, and then during the warm-up when he was diving, where he took such a hefty whack against Man City on Thursday night, he did a couple of dives out there and was struggling.

"He was really, really sore and he said that if he was called upon and had to come on, he wouldn’t do the team justice because of the pain that he was feeling.

"So we felt it was the best decision that we stuck Will on the bench, a goalkeeper that was 100 per cent fit just in case he was needed.

"Again with Travs, that will be one that we’ll just have to assess in the next few days and see how he is for Friday."
