BOSS Jason Tindall admitted it had been a “blow” for Cherries to lose defender Lloyd Kelly through injury and added: “It’s difficult to say how serious it is.”

The England under-21 international was taken straight down the tunnel after 27 minutes of tonight’s 2-1 Carabao Cup defeat at Manchester City, after suffering a hamstring problem.

Asked for an update on the former Bristol City man, Tindall told the Daily Echo: “It’s difficult to say how serious it is.

“Obviously it was a blow for us to lose Lloydy so early in the game.

“It’s one of them we are going to assess tonight and the next couple of days to see how bad it is.

“Hopefully it’s not too bad and he’ll be back soon.”

Goals from City youngsters Liam Delap and Phil Foden knocked the Dorset club out at the third-round stage. Sam Surridge found the net for Cherries.
