JASON Tindall was left frustrated by Middlesbrough's late equaliser at Riverside Stadium, stating: "The one time I felt we switched off in the game, we ended up getting punished."

Cherries looked like they were set to make the long trip home with all three points in the bag thanks to Dominic Solanke's deflected first-half effort.

Solanke had another clear chance to make it 2-0, before Boro battled back to equalise with less than 10 minutes to play when a cross from Paddy McNair was headed in by Marcus Browne. Jefferson Lerma then snatched a last-gasp winner, but his header was saved by Marcus Bettinelli.

Boss Tindall told the Daily Echo: "Looking back at the game I felt we had the better chances but I'm disappointed with the goal that we conceded because it was something that we'd spoken about and worked on in training to make sure we were organised quickly from throw-ins, because that's what they play for.

"The one time I felt we switched off in the game, we ended up getting punished."

He added: "There's not too many teams that play this way in the Championship from what I've seen so far. They (Middlesbrough) play a unique way, man-to-man marking, they're a very, very direct side.

"But I felt we dealt with everything they had to throw at us pretty well. It was a very stop-start game.

"The referee's whistle I probably heard more times than I've ever heard a whistle I think today.

"There was a lot of free-kicks that were being given, an opportunity for them to load the box but I felt we dealt with that very well. I don't think they really had too many chances or caused us any problems other than a couple of long-range shots.

"I'm pleased that we scored and I felt we probably should've put the game to bed at 1-0 with Dom's chance and then Jeff has had the chance to win the game at the end and the keeper has pulled off a great save."

On coming in 1-0 up at half-time...

I knew Middlesbrough were going to be playing the way they did and so did the players. We spoke about it pre-game and I felt maybe we could've done better in possession. I felt we had too many touches in the first half and were a little bit too slow on the ball, which I felt the problems we had we caused ourselves. But we were obviously happy to go in 1-0 up and then second half I felt we came out and did okay
